In 2017, the Industry and Commerce Sector has achieved its targets including 1) The value of industry and handicraft production achieved 8,942 billion Kip compares to 8,585 billion Kip in 2016, which increases by 4.15%. 2) Domestic trade achieved 51,387 billion Kip, compares to 44,907 billion Kip in 2016, which increases 15.10%. 3) For foreign trade, the value of import and export accounts for 9,345 million USD (estimated number), which increased 11% from last year.

Trade Facilitation Secretariat discussed on notification of measures in category B and C to WTO.
On January 30th, 2018, at Lao Plaza Hotel, Vientiane Capital. Trade Facilitation Secretariat organized a consultation meeting with relevant sectors on the classification of measure in category B and C of Trade Facilitation Agreement in accordance with the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The meeting was chaired by Mr. Khemdeth Sihavong, Deputy Director General of Department of Import and Export. There are public and private Trade Facilitation’s members participated in the meeting.
